Peter London Global Dance Company: Women & Men Voices
Mar 28, 2026
Starting: 7:30 PM
Contemporary dance meets cultural reflection in a program that examines gender, identity and storytelling through movement. Women & Men Voices takes place Saturday, March 28 at Sanctuary of the Arts in Coral Gables.
Presented by Peter London Global Dance Company, this evening-length performance brings together new choreography and repertory works that draw from modern, Caribbean and African American influences.
Women & Men Voices features original works created and performed by company members Stephanie Franco, Mar'Kayla Michel and Kayin Knighton, exploring the intersection of lived experience, artistic expression and societal gender codes. Peter London contributes a new work for six male dancers that investigates emotional intensity and physicality, engaging with ideas of vulnerability, strength and what he references as “divine ugliness,” a phrase attributed to Martha Graham.
The program also includes Jamar Roberts’ A Folk’s Tale, a work reflecting aspects of the African American experience, and concludes with London’s Caribbean Suite, inspired by the spirit of Carnival and set to music by jazz trumpeter and composer Etienne Charles.
Peter London Global Dance Company, founded in 2011, is recognized as a leading multicultural contemporary dance company in South Florida. An artist-in-residence at the Little Haiti Cultural Complex and an arts partner at the Adrienne Arsht Center, the company brings together dancers trained in American modern dance, ballet, jazz and Afro-Caribbean traditions.
