Photo Booth Launch in the Miami Design District

A sculptural photo booth by Cuban-American visual artist and filmmaker Jillian Mayer brings an interactive public artwork to Paradise Plaza in the Miami Design District. Unveiled Thursday, October 22, Galena takes the form of a reflective, organically shaped enclosure that visitors can enter to create their own photo portraits.
Commissioned by Foto Comercio and developed in collaboration with Mayer, the installation transforms the familiar photo booth into an artwork centered on self-image, reflection and participation. The launch event introduces the new permanent-looking fixture within Paradise Plaza and gives visitors an opportunity to experience the booth firsthand.
