Scholl Lecture Series: Zak Ové
Feb 05, 2026
From: 7:00 to 8:30 PM
An evening of conversation and insight spotlights one of the most compelling multidisciplinary artists working today as part of PAMM’s Scholl Lecture Series.
Presented at Pérez Art Museum Miami in collaboration with the Miami Design District, this program features Zak Ové, whose work explores Caribbean heritage, Afrofuturism, ritual, and collective identity. Drawing from sculpture, film, performance and music, Ové will discuss his artistic practice and the ideas that shape his expansive body of work, which is represented in the PAMM collection.
In Miami, Ové is currently presenting The Mothership Connection and The Invisible Man and the Masque of Blackness as part of J’OUVERT: Zak Ové, a major public art installation on view in Jungle Plaza. The monumental sculptures transform the Design District’s public space into an immersive environment where ancestral memory and contemporary expression intersect at architectural scale.
The lecture is presented as part of PAMM’s ongoing commitment to Caribbean art scholarship through the Green Family Foundation Caribbean Cultural Institute. Live translation will be available in American Sign Language, Spanish and Haitian Creole, and the program will also be streamed online via PAMM’s YouTube channel.
