SFCC Artist Series: Material as Memory

A curator-led gallery tour examines how slow, hand-intensive processes can transform material into a vessel for memory. The program takes place Saturday, July 25 at the Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami, with co-curators Kimari Jackson and Laura Novoa guiding the discussion.

Featured artists Manuela Gonzalez and Gerbi Tsesarskaia approach objects as carriers of gesture, history and prior use. Their practices emphasize accumulated time and careful making, tracing how materials continue to shift in meaning as they are reworked into new forms.
