Shen Yun: China Before Communism

Classical Chinese dance and live orchestral music bring the legends and traditions of ancient China to the Arsht Center stage.

Shen Yun 2026: China Before Communism takes place Saturday, February 21 at the Adrienne Arsht Center, presented by the FaLun DaFa Association of Florida. This annual Arsht Center event features Shen Yun Performing Arts, a New York–based company founded in 2006 and recognized as a leader in classical Chinese dance and music.

The production combines classical dance, colorful costuming, high-tech animated backdrops and a live orchestra to tell stories from China’s 5,000 years of history, including dynastic legends, mythological tales and spiritual traditions. Touring to more than 150 cities worldwide each year, Shen Yun offers audiences in Miami a rare opportunity to experience a theatrical interpretation of China’s cultural heritage.
