Starting: 7:00 PM
Afro-tech and Afro-house rhythms take over Jungle Island for a Miami Music Week showcase led by South African DJ and producer Shimza.
Shimza and Co: Miami Music Week takes place Friday, March 27 at Jungle Island. Presented by Nebula New York, this 21+ event brings together a global lineup of electronic artists known for deep grooves, tribal percussion and melodic intensity.
Born Ashley Raphala, Shimza first gained recognition after winning South Africa’s Red Square DJ Knockout Challenge and went on to release his debut album Shimuzic on Black Coffee’s Soulistic label. His hypnotic blend of Afro-tech, layered synths and vocal textures has carried him from Ibiza to major international festivals, while his Kunye label continues to spotlight forward-thinking African electronic music.
Joining him is Spanish producer ARODES, whose emotive, melodic productions have earned support from artists including Adriatique, Artbat and Black Coffee, alongside residencies in Ibiza and Mykonos. American duo Bedouin—known for their globally influenced, genre-defying sound and acclaimed Ibiza residency Saga—bring their signature storytelling style shaped by Middle Eastern heritage and years of festival performances worldwide.
Miami-based Falyn, recognized for her spiritually charged Afro-electronic sets, adds a local perspective to the night with her blend of melodic Afro-tech and Afro-house. Haitian DJ and Deep Root Records founder Francis Mercier rounds out the bill, merging Afro and melodic house with soulful influences that have earned him international radio play and festival bookings.
Set against Jungle Island’s waterfront setting, the evening unfolds as part of Miami Music Week’s citywide celebration of electronic music culture, uniting artists from across continents for a night of immersive rhythm and global connection.
