Classic American dishes and paired cocktails anchor a summer dinner at Morton’s The Steakhouse in Coral Gables. Sips of Summer takes place Friday, July 17, at 6:30 p.m., with a coast-to-coast menu inspired by the Great American road trip.
The dinner features a series of courses built around familiar regional flavors and backyard favorites. Passed hors d’oeuvres include Reuben crostini and deviled eggs with candied bacon, followed by a lobster roll paired with an “American ’76,” a French 75 variation made with Wheatley Vodka, lemon and Schramsberg Blanc de Blancs.
Additional courses include a wagyu beef hot dog with whole-grain mustard and pickles, paired with a bourbon, ginger, lemon and honey whiskey sour, and BBQ baby back ribs with homemade coleslaw, paired with a tea-infused Old Fashioned made with Sazerac rye, black tea, Averna and demerara. The evening concludes with “Cow Tipping,” a spirited root beer float made with Buffalo Trace Bourbon Cream, Licor 43, Freddy’s Root Beer and Häagen-Dazs.
An optional VIP pre-party tasting begins at 6 p.m. and includes a Great American cheeseburger slider paired with Miller High Life for an additional $10 per person, with limited tickets available. Tickets for the dinner are $99 per person, inclusive of tax, gratuity and fees. Guests must be 21 or older, and tickets are nonrefundable.
