"Sites of the Self" Opening Reception

Questions of identity, memory and social experience shape a group exhibition by Oolite Arts Studio Residents on Miami Beach. The opening reception for Sites of the Self takes place Wednesday, July 8 at Oolite Arts, alongside Open Studios. Organized by Oolite Arts in collaboration with Bakehouse Art Complex, the exhibition is curated by Bakehouse Senior Curatorial Fellow René Morales and remains on view through October 4.

The exhibition explores how the self is formed through personal history, relationships, social codes and systems of power. Featured artists include Diego Gabaldon, Gonzalo Hernandez, Sepideh Kalani, Bex McCharen, Lucía Morales, Genesis Moreno, Ana Mosquera, Nadia Wolff, Ricardo E. Zulueta, Shayla Marshall, Sheherazade Thénard, Pangea Kali Virga and José Delgado Zuñiga.

The reception gives visitors an opportunity to view the exhibition and meet artists working in Oolite Arts’ studio residency program. Oolite Arts is located at 924 Lincoln Road in Miami Beach.
