Apr 15, 2026
Starting: 8:00 PM
A video game-inspired adventure brings pixelated worlds and imaginative storytelling to an outdoor screening at SoundScape Park.
SoundScape Cinema Series: A Minecraft Movie takes place Wednesday, April 15 at SoundScape Park. Directed by Jared Hess, the 2025 family-friendly film adapts the globally popular game into a live-action narrative, following four unlikely heroes pulled through a mysterious portal into the cubic Overworld. As they attempt to find their way home, the group must learn how creativity, problem-solving and collaboration shape survival in a landscape governed by imagination. The journey pairs fantasy elements with humor and visual references familiar to longtime players and newcomers alike.
The screening is part of the City of Miami Beach’s SoundScape Cinema Series and begins at 8 p.m. Admission is free with no ticket required. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs for seating on the lawn and enjoy the film on the New World Center’s large-scale outdoor projection wall.
