SoundScape Cinema Series: Cabrini
Mar 25, 2026
Starting: 8:00 PM
A historical drama rooted in social reform and perseverance anchors an outdoor screening at SoundScape Park.
SoundScape Cinema Series: Cabrini takes place Wednesday, March 25 at SoundScape Park. Directed by Alejandro Monteverde, the 2024 film centers on Francesca Cabrini, an Italian immigrant whose work among New York City’s poorest communities led her to confront political resistance in pursuit of housing, healthcare and education for orphaned children. Set at the turn of the 20th century, the story frames Cabrini’s advocacy within the realities of immigration, public health and institutional power in an expanding American city.
The film approaches its subject as both a personal portrait and a broader examination of early social justice efforts, highlighting the strategies and resolve required to effect change within hostile systems.
The screening is part of the City of Miami Beach’s SoundScape Cinema Series and begins at 8 p.m. Admission is free with no ticket required. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs for seating on the lawn and enjoy the film on the New World Center’s large-scale outdoor projection wall.
