SoundScape Cinema Series: Shrek Forever After
May 27, 2026
Starting: 8:00 PM
An outdoor screening of the final Shrek installment brings the animated series to a close at SoundScape Park.
The film screens Wednesday, May 27. Directed by Mike Mitchell, Shrek Forever After (2010) follows Shrek as he is transported into an alternate version of Far Far Away where ogres are hunted and Rumpelstiltskin rules the kingdom. Separated from his family and friends, he must navigate this altered world while working to restore the life he once knew.
The film introduces a darker fairy-tale premise while maintaining the franchise’s humor and ensemble cast, using the alternate storyline to explore themes of identity, gratitude and belonging.
The screening begins at 8 p.m. and is free and open to the public, with no ticket required. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs for seating on the lawn and watch the film on the New World Center’s large-scale outdoor projection wall.
