Jun 21, 2025
Starting: 6:00 PM
Hear the voices shaping Florida’s contemporary poetry scene as SWWIM (Supporting Women Writers in Miami) presents an evening of readings from Chameleon Chimera: An Anthology of Florida Poets. Taking place Saturday, June 21 at Books & Books in Coral Gables, the event features work by some of South Florida’s most acclaimed women poets.
Readers include Elisa Albo, a Broward College professor whose poetry reflects themes of immigration, family and loss; Clayre Benzadón, a queer Sephardic-Ashkenazi poet and activist whose recent manuscript was recognized by the Miami Book Fair; and Jen Karetnick, a 2024 National Poetry Series finalist and managing editor of SWWIM Every Day. Also featured are Mia Leonin, author of four poetry collections and a memoir, and Nicole Tallman, Miami-Dade’s Poetry Ambassador and author of FERSACE.
Admission is free, and books will be available for purchase during the event.
