Jul 09, 2026
From: 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Contemporary jazz, electronics and improvisation shape an after-hours performance connected to current exhibitions at the Frost Art Museum. Tertulia Nights: Our Miami Jazz Scene takes place Thursday, July 9.
Presented as part of the museum’s monthly Tertulia Nights series, the program features eko vizion meusik in an immersive live performance inspired by David C. Driskell & Friends: Creativity, Collaboration, and Friendship and the parallel exhibition Invitation to Openness. The ensemble blends futuristic textures, field recordings, lush harmonies, improvisation and South Florida soundscapes, drawing from contemporary jazz, electronics and classical guitar influences.
The performance features Dion Kerr on bass, Vaughn Henry on keyboard, Stephane Clement on trumpet and Miguel Russell on drums. The evening also includes opening remarks by Dr. Valerie Patterson, Director of the African and African Diaspora Studies Program.
Tertulia Nights is the Frost Art Museum’s second-Thursday after-hours series, designed to foster exchanges among artists, scholars, changemakers and the community. Funding for this program is provided by the Art Bridges Access for All initiative.
