The Coral Rescuers

A short documentary follows scientists and reef guardians working to protect Florida’s remaining corals as warming waters and other climate pressures threaten their survival. Presented Friday, October 16 at the University of Miami Rosenstiel School on Key Biscayne, The Coral Rescuers makes its Florida premiere with a screening focused on the people and research behind ongoing coral conservation efforts.

The film examines efforts to rescue, study and preserve vulnerable coral populations while documenting the urgency surrounding reef loss in Florida. Following the screening, the program continues with a discussion featuring the film’s director and participants who appear in the documentary.
