The Fruit We Bear: A Studio Vizcaya Finale
Jul 25, 2026
From: 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM
Illuminated fruit sculptures created with Miami community members transform Vizcaya Museum & Gardens into an outdoor installation at twilight. The Fruit We Bear: A Studio Vizcaya Finale takes place Saturday, July 25, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. The all-ages event marks the culmination of Studio Vizcaya’s summer workshops, led by multidisciplinary artist Shawna Moulton.
The installation features nine large-scale papier-mâché fruit sculptures, including oranges, grapefruit, mangoes, avocados, bananas, papaya, lychee and carambola. Each sculpture represents a human value such as love, joy, peace, patience, hope, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-love or goodness, with handwritten reflections, affirmations, drawings and personal stories from workshop participants incorporated into the work.
Visitors can explore the illuminated sculptures at their own pace across Vizcaya’s grounds, reading the embedded messages and considering the community contributions behind each piece. Free parking is available. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for children ages 6-12 and free for children 5 and under and Vizcaya members.
