The Garcia Ellis Quartet
Jun 27, 2025
From: 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM
Contemporary fusion jazz sets the tone for the South Beach Jazz Festival Summer Series kickoff, featuring a performance by The Garcia Ellis Quartet. This free, open-air concert, presented by Power Access, Lincoln Road and Miami Beach Onstage!, takes place Friday, June 27 at Euclid Oval.
Led by electric guitarist Dr. Orlando Jacinto Garcia, the ensemble includes pianist Ryan Ellis, drummer Brandon Lewis and bassist Renee Cruz. Their repertoire blends the influence of jazz fusion innovators such as Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock and Joe Zawinul with nods to artists like Cannonball Adderley, John Coltrane and Carlos Santana. The group’s performances highlight improvisation within structured compositions, weaving together funk grooves, Latin jazz rhythms and rock-jazz fusion.
The 2025 South Beach Jazz Festival Summer Series is produced by Power Access, a nonprofit organization committed to promoting accessibility and inclusion in the arts. The series is part of the broader South Beach Jazz Festival mission to bring high-quality jazz performances and educational programming to South Florida. Series sponsors include Miami Beach Onstage!, Lincoln Road, The Bass, Collins Park, the Normandy Fountain Business Association and Miami-Dade County.
