The Next Chapter: Sitting Pretty

A theatrical adaptation of Rebekah Taussig’s memoir Sitting Pretty brings humor and reflection to the experience of navigating the world as a wheelchair user. Presented Saturday, October 10 at Westchester Cultural Arts Center as part of the Harvest & Wellness Festival, the production follows Taussig’s experience teaching Disability Studies to a class of disengaged students.
Directed by Phillip M Church, the performance features Justine Chichester, Shawn Buller, Laquantis Morton and Rubi Piloto, with video and sound by Ethan Torres. The seriocomic work combines personal storytelling with observations on disability, education and everyday assumptions.
Admission is free, with optional donations accepted.
