The Princess Diaries at Vizcaya
Apr 13, 2026
Starting: 7:00 PM
An outdoor film screening brings a beloved coming-of-age story to the historic gardens of Vizcaya with a themed evening inspired by royal transformation and classic storytelling. Taking place Monday, April 13, the event is part of the Miami Film Festival and celebrates the 25th anniversary of The Princess Diaries in a waterfront setting. Presented in partnership with the Miami Book Fair, the screening connects the film to its origins in Meg Cabot’s popular novel series.
Directed by Garry Marshall, the 2001 film follows Mia Thermopolis, a teenager who discovers she is the heir to a European throne, leading to a series of humorous and heartfelt challenges as she navigates identity, responsibility and adolescence. Starring Anne Hathaway in her breakout role alongside Julie Andrews, the film has become a widely recognized entry in early 2000s family cinema.
Set within Vizcaya Museum & Gardens, the event offers an open-air viewing experience that complements the film’s regal themes, with the estate’s architecture and landscape enhancing the atmosphere of the screening.
