The Secret Garden Tour of Coconut Grove
Mar 14, 2026
Starting: 1:00 PM
Six private gardens open their gates for a rare look at the lush, tree-canopied landscapes tucked behind Coconut Grove’s historic homes.
The Secret Garden Tour of Coconut Grove takes place Saturday, March 14 and Sunday, March 15, guiding visitors through six distinctive gardens within walking distance of one another in South Coconut Grove. Designed as a self-guided experience, the tour invites guests to move at their own pace while exploring a range of styles, plant collections and outdoor designs that reflect the neighborhood’s deep horticultural roots.
Presented by the Secret Garden Preservation Society, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the annual tour was launched in 2020 to inspire preservation of Coconut Grove’s heritage trees and encourage thoughtful planting in the face of ongoing development. Each featured property demonstrates how private gardens, large and small, contribute to the Grove’s canopy and character.
Limited car and golf cart tickets are available, though walking, biking or scootering is encouraged. Free parking is offered at the ticket and map pick-up location; street parking in the Grove is limited.
On Saturday at 4:30 p.m., ticket holders may also attend an optional Secret Garden Tour Celebration Party at Atchana’s Homegrown Thai. This separately ticketed gathering includes an open bar and heavy appetizers at the family-owned restaurant; party wristbands must be picked up at the ticket booth that day.
Proceeds from the tour support the Secret Garden Preservation Society’s mission to protect and cultivate Coconut Grove’s green legacy.
