Third Thursdays: South Florida Symphony Orchestra Woodwind Quintet
Oct 15, 2026
From: 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
The South Florida Symphony Orchestra Woodwind Quintet brings music from the orchestra’s 2026–2027 season into an intimate museum setting at The Bass in Miami Beach. Presented Thursday, October 15, as part of the museum’s Third Thursdays series, the program highlights composers featured during the upcoming season through chamber performances and commentary about the works and their creative context.
Founded in 1997 by conductor Sebrina María Alfonso, the South Florida Symphony Orchestra performs throughout Miami-Dade, Broward and Monroe counties and pairs traditional repertoire with contemporary works and interdisciplinary collaborations. The Woodwind Quintet offers a smaller-scale introduction to that programming, giving audiences a closer look at the music shaping the orchestra’s new season.
Third Thursdays presents free monthly evenings of performances, talks, poetry, installations and other cultural programming at The Bass. The series coincides with the City of Miami Beach Culture Crawl, with complimentary trolley service connecting participating arts destinations throughout the evening. Admission is free with RSVP, with seating and standing room available on a first-come, first-served basis.
