A tribute concert at The Citadel honors the music and legacy of Haitian singer Emeline Michel during Haitian Heritage Month. Taking place Saturday, May 9, the event also serves as a lead-in to Mother’s Day celebrations.
Often described as a cultural ambassador of Haitian music, Emeline Michel is known for blending compas, rara and traditional rhythms with jazz, pop and world music influences. Over a career spanning more than two decades, she has performed at international venues including Carnegie Hall and major global festivals, earning recognition for both her vocal style and her role in promoting Haitian culture.
Presented by Kamikazgroup, the evening brings together live music, dancing and a social atmosphere within The Citadel’s multi-level venue. The program offers a community-focused celebration of Haitian artistry, highlighting Michel’s influence through performance and cultural expression.
