A guided walk through one of Miami’s rare tropical forests offers visitors a closer look at the ecosystems tucked within Vizcaya’s grounds.
Vizcaya’s Hardwood Hammock: A Behind the Scenes Guided Tour is led by Gardener and Hammock Specialist Eric Fleites, who provides insight into the native habitats and plant communities that make this hardwood hammock an important part of the estate’s landscape. Participants will visit areas not typically open to the public while learning about the ecological significance of the forest and the horticulture team’s ongoing care of these spaces.
The tour begins at 11:30 a.m. on December 12, February 20 and March 20.
