WALLCAST® Concert: Denève Beethoven 9

Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony and its choral “Ode to Joy” finale fill SoundScape Park in a free outdoor broadcast led by New World Symphony Artistic Director Stéphane Denève. The concert takes place Saturday, October 10 in Miami Beach, opening the 2026-27 WALLCAST® series. The program also honors New World Symphony co-founder Michael Tilson Thomas with a performance of his Notturno.
Denève conducts the New World Symphony Fellows alongside soprano Ellie Dehn, mezzo-soprano Tamara Mumford, tenor Sean Panikkar and baritone Dashon Burton. The Master Chorale of South Florida joins the orchestra under chorus master Brett Karlin, while flutist Demarre McGill is featured in Notturno. Mahler’s Adagietto from Symphony No. 5 completes the program.
The performance is projected live from the New World Center onto its 7,000-square-foot exterior wall with accompanying outdoor sound. Guests can bring a blanket or lawn chair and pack a picnic to enjoy during the concert. Admission is free and no ticket is required.
