We Are Nature: Mask-Making & Storytelling Workshop
This event has passed.
A hands-on family workshop blends art, movement and storytelling to explore the animals and ecosystems of the Everglades.
We Are Nature: Mask-Making & Storytelling Workshop takes place on Sunday, January 18 at the Vizcaya Village Garage. Designed for children ages 5 to 12 accompanied by a caregiver, the program invites participants to create imaginative masks inspired by Everglades wildlife and landscapes, then bring those creations to life through guided movement and storytelling.
Led by multidisciplinary artist and community facilitator Gabriela Serra, the workshop encourages creativity and environmental awareness while introducing young participants to Florida’s biodiversity through play-based learning. All materials are provided, and the experience emphasizes self-expression, collaboration and a deeper connection to nature. The program is part of Vizcaya’s Family Garden initiatives, which use art and storytelling to engage families with South Florida’s natural environment. Advance registration is required, and capacity is limited.
