We Met at Bachata

Beginner bachata, guided conversation and social dancing turn the Vizcaya Village Night Market into a low-pressure mixer centered on movement and connection. Presented by We Met Community Connection on Thursday, October 8, We Met at Bachata invites adults 21 and older to learn a few steps, meet new people and explore the role Latin dance plays in Miami’s cultural life.

Instructor Nina Osoria Ahmadi leads a one-hour beginner-friendly bachata class, followed by small-group conversations and a social dance session with music by Miami DJs. No experience or partner is required. Participants can also choose color-coded wristbands indicating the kinds of connections they are open to making, from friendship to dating.

The evening schedule includes:

• 5:30 p.m.: Check-in at the We Met in Miami booth
• 6:15 p.m.: Introductions and opening icebreaker
• 6:30 p.m.: Beginner bachata class
• 7:30 p.m.: Facilitated conversations on Latin dance and Miami culture
• 8 p.m.: Bachata social and mingling

The event is free, with food and drinks available for purchase from Vizcaya Village Night Market vendors. Free parking is available at Vizcaya Village.
