We Met at Game Night: Hong Kong Mahjong

Hong Kong-style mahjong becomes a social game night at Vizcaya Village, combining guided play with structured opportunities to meet new people. Presented by We Met in Miami and 888 Mahjong Social, the 21-and-over event takes place Thursday, May 14 from 6 to 9 p.m. during the Vizcaya Village Night Market. The gathering also celebrates Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month through a game with deep cultural roots and a strong emphasis on strategy, memory and connection.

Beginners are welcome, with instructors from 888 Mahjong Social guiding participants through the four-player game. The evening begins with check-in, wristbands, name tags and an icebreaker before players move into timed rounds with randomly assigned groups and a table shuffle designed to encourage new conversations.

The event takes place alongside the Vizcaya Village Night Market, which opens at 5 p.m. with local vendors, food, dessert and live music. Guests can arrive early to browse the market, grab dinner and settle in before gameplay begins. Free parking is available at Vizcaya Village.
