We Sing America

Spirituals, patriotic choral music and audience singing come together in a community concert marking Flag Day and Juneteenth. We Sing America! takes place Sunday, June 14 at the Marshall L. Davis, Sr. African Heritage Cultural Arts Center. Presented by the Miami Oratorio Society and Winds of the Spirit Community Band, the program combines formal performance with opportunities for the audience to sing along.
The concert features spirituals along with Randall Thompson’s The Testament of Freedom, a choral work set to writings by Thomas Jefferson. Framed around themes of freedom, civic identity and shared musical participation, the program offers a reflective way to observe both Flag Day and Juneteenth through song.
