Taking place Sunday, May 17, the World Bee Day Symposium centers on pollinator education, regenerative practices and environmental stewardship. The event unfolds across the sanctuary’s gardens and natural spaces, combining workshops, demonstrations and communal gathering.
Program Highlights
Honey House Unveiling
Attendees will be among the first to experience Patch’s new Honey House, featuring honeycomb observation hives and an interactive learning environment focused on pollinators and regenerative beekeeping.
Beekeeping & Ecology
Led by resident beekeeper Melissa Sorokin of Beelightful Bees, the program includes guided discussions on hive dynamics, bee behavior and the ecological importance of pollinators. A beginner-friendly workshop introduces the fundamentals of beekeeping, including tools, structure and responsible practices.
Innovation in Beekeeping
The event includes the introduction of the Primal Beehive, an advanced hive design developed through international collaboration, highlighting new approaches to sustainability and colony health.
Garden & Pollinator Education
Guests can explore planting strategies that support bees and other pollinators, with guidance on creating productive, pollinator-friendly home gardens.
Bee-Inspired Brunch
A curated brunch features seasonal and honey-infused offerings sourced from the sanctuary’s gardens, reflecting the connection between pollinators and food systems.
