If you’re looking to curb your accommodations budget so you can enjoy everything Miami Beach has to offer, consider checking into one of these hostels. They boast great locations near the beach with style, service and all the amenities you’ll really need. Best of all, they won’t break the bank, so you can spend your hard-earned money on a fun night out on the town.

Freehand Miami

One could argue that the stylish, affordable hotel/hostel trend in Miami Beach was ushered in by a pop-up craft cocktail bar in the courtyard of a then defunct Art Deco hotel just north of the South Beach fray. Today, The Broken Shaker cocktail bar is a permanent fixture of Miami Beach’s nightlife scene and the anchor of The Freehand Miami, a hip hotel/hostel with both private and shared rooms designed by Roman & Williams in a subtle nautical theme. It’s also home to a pool and 27 Restaurant and Bar, which serves seasonal farm-to-table fare inspired by Miami’s melting pot of cultures. Perennially popular among locals, it’s at the top of every budget traveler’s list.

Generator Miami

Stylish European hostel group Generator made its U.S. debut in Miami Beach by revamping a kitschy Art Deco property on Collins Avenue. With both shared and private rooms, Generator Miami is an affordable destination in a prime Mid Beach location with friendly hospitality. The courtyard swimming pool features tropical mural art, colorful floats and a cabana-style bar with ample outdoor seating. The onsite Jim & Neesie restaurant is a hip newcomer serving crowd-pleasing dishes like kale salad, cacio e pepe pasta, charred romanesco and an eight-ounce pan-seared filet with truffle jus.

Tropics Hotel & Hostel

Located in the heart of South Beach’s Art Deco District on Collins Avenue, the Tropics Hotel & Hostel is a great option for budget travelers looking to enjoy some fun in the sun. You’re across the street from the beach, close to Lincoln Road and steps away from some of the area’s hottest nightlife and dining spots. Tropics also boasts a lovely swimming pool, and you can choose from both private rooms and dormitory-style accommodations.

Deco Walk Hostel South Beach

Deco Walk Hostel South Beach is perfect for backpackers, students and tourists who are looking for a true South Beach experience without breaking the bank. The oceanfront hostel is located in the heart of Ocean Drive, where you’ll find buzzing restaurants and shops. Accommodations range from private dorm to mixed dorm, with female dorm and male dorm options. Private dorms feature an en-suite shared bathroom. Ocean view rooms are available on a first come first served basis, so be sure to reserve in advance.

SoBe Hostel

With classic hostel accommodations including both shared and private rooms, the SoBe Hostel is ideal for international travelers on a budget looking for a friendly, social environment in Miami Beach. Located in the chic South of Fifth neighborhood, it’s located on a quiet street only a few blocks from the beach. With its own bar and restaurant, a pool table, theater room, shared kitchen and internet cafe, there’s ample opportunity to mix and mingle with other young travelers. The hostel also features complimentary breakfast, daily housekeeping and transfers to the airport. Takeaway restaurant counter My Ceviche is right next door, serving up fresh fish, burritos and tacos, as well as stone crabs when in season.

Miami Hostel

Located on Alton Road on the western side of South Beach, Miami Hostel offers budget travelers a more residential view of the area. While it’s a short hike to the beach, you’ll enjoy gorgeous views of Biscayne Bay from this perspective. Onsite, you’ll enjoy access to a full kitchen, an indoor cafe and outdoor seating, as well as beach towels and private lockers.
