This Design District pioneer from Chef Michael Schwartz is as popular now as it was when it first debuted almost 20 years ago. A well-heeled crowd flocks here, but whether it's a requisite respite from boutique hopping, a spot to catch up with friends or a meal to close a business deal, this dining delight is for everyone. The courtyard is a lovely place to linger, thanks to its lush greenery, fans and heat lamps (when necessary). The interior space features concrete flooring and an inviting bar. The menu focuses on seasonal ingredients sourced locally, featured in an array of confident cooking like wood-fired pizza, house-made pasta, crudo and oven-roasted chicken.

James Beard Award winning chef and restaurateur Michael Schwartz's flagship neighborhood bistro is known for its refreshing combination of laid-back atmosphere and straightforward food emphasizing fresh, local ingredients. According to the chef, the secret to good food is... good food. Menus change daily because they start with what's in season and arriving on the doorstep from nearby farmers, fishermen, and ranchers. From there, it's about letting the ingredients speak for themselves when they hit the table, from house-cured heritage meats and homemade seasonal fruit jams to wood-fired whole local fish and colorful salads. Michael’s Genuine can accommodate festivities for up to 175 guests as a buyout or separately in its bar room (22 seated or 35 standing cocktail party), main dining room (60), or outside patio (100) for lunch, brunch and dinner.
