News Cafe
Eat & Drink
At News Cafe, every day begins with a sense of place. A gathering spot to linger over coffee, reconnect with loved ones, and watch Ocean Drive come alive, the iconic restaurant, bar, and newsstand that helped shape South Beach’s revival in the 1980s continues to operate from its original home inside The Tony Hotel at 804 Ocean Drive.
Operated by Vida & Estilo Restaurant Group, News Café presents a curated Mediterranean-American menu rooted in nostalgia and designed for all-day enjoyment. Breakfast and daily brunch take center stage from the original Tony’s tomato soup, tuna melt, Aegean-Mediterranean plate, and classic eggs Benedict to indulgent French toast and Piña Colada pancakes layered with grilled pineapple and coconut syrup. It’s a menu that balances comfort and creativity, where truffle fries, a red-wine demi-glazed burger with smoked gouda, and shareable favorites keep the energy flowing from morning espresso to afternoon spritz.
As the sun sets, the rhythm shifts. The Nine Edition arrives nightly from 9PM to close, an intentional late-night chapter that feels editorial, not promotional. Light bites. Easy drinks. All $9. Designed as an after-dinner ritual, it invites guests to linger a little longer with refined yet relaxed offerings. Golden, gooey Mozzarella Bites meet a glossy guava and Coca-Cola dip for a nostalgic, Miami-coded twist, while the Frozzie Rossie, a rosé-forward vodka cocktail with grapefruit sparkle, peach softness, and a delicate floral finish — delivers a crisp, modern nightcap. From sunrise brunch to after-hours bites and pours, News Café moves effortlessly through every day part, always fresh, always printed daily.
