PINECREST: A VILLAGE AROUND A GARDEN

AN UPSCALE RESIDENTIAL AREA CONTINUES TO EXPAND IN PINECREST.

Pinecrest is a suburban village in Miami-Dade County. In the 1930s, the area's growth began to evolve around one of the first tourist attractions established in the Miami vicinity - Parrot Jungle and Gardens.

Today, the former wildlife attraction has been turned into a community park, Pinecrest Gardens, where concerts, art shows and other special events are held year-round. At historic Pinecrest Gardens, the Farmer's Market is a popular weekly event.

Another natural haven in this residential area is the Wayside Market, a pit stop along Old Cutler Road, where there's a great biking path. The Wayside Market sells fresh juice and local tropical fruits, snacks and taste bud-tickling shakes that will keep you coming back to Pinecrest.

Pinecrest

The affluent suburban village of Pinecrest is nationally recognized as a Tree City USA, a Playful City USA and a Community of Respect. In 2011, Pinecrest was recognized as one of the ten best places in Florida for "quality of life," by the respected South Florida Business Journal.
