Hailed by The New York Times’ Alastair Macauley as being “at the forefront of all those dancing choreography by George Balanchine today“, Miami City Ballet has come of age as one of the preeminent ballet companies in the world interpreting Balanchine’s choreography.
Brazilian-born Nathalia Arja began dancing at the age of 5 and received a full scholarship to attend Miami City Ballet School at age 15. She joined the Miami City Ballet in 2009, and has been a Principal dancer since 2020.
Shimon Ito began his dance training at the age of 4 at his mother’s dance academy in New York City. Ito joined Miami City Ballet in 2011 as a Corps de Ballet member and was promoted to Principal Soloist in 2019.
