Staying fit while traveling can sometimes be a challenge. But, staying active in Miami Beach is actually pretty easy. Look around, and you’ll see nearly everybody in the city doing something active, whether running along golden sands or swimming in the Atlantic Ocean.

Walk, Run, Skate or Bike
Probably the easiest way to get your blood pumping outside is by running, rollerblading or renting a Citi Bike to cruise along the Beachwalk, a continuous paved pathway that runs along the beach from 1st to 79th streets.

Strength Training
Strength training outside is easy because Miami Beach has a gym on the beach. At Lummus Park on Ocean Drive and 9th Street, you’ll find Muscle Beach, where a collection of workout equipment sits right on the sand. Pull-up bars, benches, squat racks and ropes are open to anyone looking to get their pump on.

Paddleboard
In Miami Beach, you can work out on the water:

Beach Volleyball
Beach volleyball is big here, and you’ll find the best games at the courts near 7th Street and Ocean Drive in Lummus Park.

Looking for a quick pick-up basketball game? Several parks around Miami Beach offer courts:

- Polo Park
- Scott Rakow Youth Center, also offers youth basketball programs

Tennis
Tennis players can choose from several courts in Miami Beach:
- Flamingo Park Tennis Center: offers match play and private lessons
- Miami Beach Tennis Center: home to the Miami Beach Tennis Academy, and has adult clinics, junior camps and courts available to reserve for a nominal fee

There are scores of pickleball courts in Miami Beach, too, found in public parks all over the city. In total, 10 parks offer playing opportunities.

For skateboarders, Miami Beach features a full skate park at the 82 Street Skate Park.
