Discover Cauley Square Historic Village

A visit to Cauley Square Historic Railroad Village in Goulds is a throwback to Old Florida, when Henry Flagler built his East Coast Railway through Miami and the Florida Keys at the turn of the 19th century. William Cauley owned a ten-acre parcel of land where he built a two-story warehouse, packinghouse and office for shipping produce from his farms. His land developed into a small village housing both Cauley’s and the railroad’s employees.

Today, the quaint pine cottages offer an eclectic collection of shops, galleries and New Age emporiums. Cauley Square is set in a shady oasis off US Highway 1. Its winding brick paths, banyan trees and water fountains provide a sharp contrast to Miami’s urban mega malls. Step back in time as you shop for arts and crafts, antiques, organic soaps and fragrances, crystals, candles, holistic herbs, psychic readings and more. Along the Village’s shady paths, you’ll find tons of Instagram-worthy spots like the gazebo, the aviary and even a vintage red caboose. If you need a shopping break, sit for a spell and listen to the sounds of birdsong and wind chimes. Dining options include the charming Tea Room for sandwiches and a proper English tea, as well as the Village Chalet for salads, sandwiches and gourmet American fare. With its serene setting and tropical greenery, Cauley Square Historic Village is a popular spot for weddings. It is also a gateway to the many unique attractions of The Redland, South Miami Dade’s wild and wonderful agricultural district.

Events take place throughout the year at Cauley Square Historic Village, including antique car shows and a holistic health expo, as well as kid-friendly events during the Christmas and Easter holidays. Be sure to check the shop and restaurant hours when you plan your visit.
