Best Places To Shop In South Dade
- June 18, 2025
While South Dade is mostly known for its residential neighborhoods, groves filled with exotic fruits and vegetables, and acres of farmland, those who live there know it’s a top destination for shopping too. From boutiques selling vintage furniture and home decor to high-end designer stores, an open-air outlet mall and strip malls with big-box stores, here are our favorite places to shop in South Dade.

Visit Old South Florida at Cauley Square Historic Village
Step back in time when you visit Cauley Square Historic Village, a shopping destination built in the style of Old South Florida. The beginnings of Cauley Square date back to the early 1900s, when William Cauley opened a shipping operation – a complex with an office building, a warehouse, wooden homes for employees and a saloon – along the Florida East Coast Railway extension. That office building is now the main building in Cauley Square, and those 10 acres of wooden houses have all been turned into shops, art galleries, gardens, restaurants, wellness spas, a tea house and even a small chapel.
When you shop here, expect the unexpected. You’ll find Jimmy’s Bright Ideas, which sells vintage home decor; the Dora Gabay Studio art gallery; and pure fragrances and skincare at Therapia by Aroma. You can’t leave without stopping by The Tea Room, where you can have traditional high tea with tea sandwiches, scones, macarons, lemon cake and more.

Enjoy Kid-Friendly Outdoor Shopping
The Falls has more than 100 stores lining a brook running the length of the mall (with quaint bridges connecting one side to the other), surrounded by covered walkways, swaying palms, waterfalls and lush garden areas. This open-air mall is very family-friendly. There’s a Regal cinema, a Build-A-Bear Workshop where children can make their own stuffed animals, teen fashion favorites such as Francesca’s and Hollister, Macy’s and more. Get a bite to eat at BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse, Longhorn Steakhouse, Bulla Gastrobar, Naked Taco or True Food Kitchen.

Your Favorite Retailers, Movies & A Gym
Head to Cutler Bay and spend an afternoon shopping at Southland Mall, home to popular stores, entertainment and restaurants. It has nearly 100 retailers, anchored by department stores such as Macy’s and JCPenney, as well as DSW, Bath & Body Works, The Children’s Place, Old Navy, Foot Locker, TJ Maxx and more. When you’re ready for a break, get a free three-day pass and workout at LA Fitness or see a movie at Regal Cinema. There are plenty of places to eat when hunger strikes, such as Applebee’s and Buffalo Wild Wings, and occasional crafts events for children.
An Outlet Marketplace at the End of the Turnpike
At the southernmost exit of the Florida Turnpike in Florida City, Florida Keys Outlet Marketplace is an outdoor shopping mall with more than 50 lifestyle name brand outlet stores. Shop for your kids at Carters or OshKosh B’gosh, then find your new favorite outfit at Nautica, Gap Factory Store, Tommy Hilfiger and Nike Clearance. The mall’s Spanish-style buildings, swaying palms and large food court enhance your shopping experience.
