The two-time World Series champion Miami Marlins are Miami’s Major League Baseball (MLB) team, playing their home games at loanDepot park in Little Havana. The team began play in 1993 as the Florida Marlins, won two World Series in their first decade of existence and have brought the excitement and spirit of America’s pastime to Miami.

Today, the Marlins have one of the most-exciting young teams in MLB and play in a dynamic ballpark with a retractable roof and panoramic views of the Miami skyline. Be sure to catch a game when you’re in Miami.

Miami Marlins Tickets

Tickets are available through the team’s official site and are generally far more affordable than those for other MLB teams. Tickets start at $12, but the Marlins also offer a 4-for-$44 deal for Sunday and Wednesday home games; a family can get four tickets, hot dogs, sodas or waters, and small popcorns for $44 (or up to nine tickets, hot dogs, sodas and waters for $99). The team also has a few games per year with $1 tickets for kids plus all-you-can-eat seats that include ballpark favorites and non-alcoholic drinks. There are also select games when you can bring your dog and Taco Tuesdays, when select tickets include two tacos and a beer.

loanDepot park is packed with fantastic food options that showcase the destination’s culinary diversity. Of course, you can also stick to the ballpark classics: hot dogs, popcorn, beer and soda, which are sold at stands throughout the ballpark, most notably Obie’s just behind home plate and Familia Faves in right field.

For a taste of local pizza, try Miami’s Best Pizza along the first base line. Further out in right field, you’ll also find Kosher Korner, with kosher hot dogs and hamburgers, and the Fowl Pole, offering up all varieties of chicken. If you’re a frequent fan, check out The Change Up near Section 1, where the menu changes with every series.

To get a taste of Little Havana’s Latin American cuisine, hit La Cocina in right field, where croquetas and Cuban sandwiches await. You’ll find similar delicious food at Rincon Habana near section 223.

Local craft breweries Biscayne Bay Brewing and Cerveceria la Tropical both have outposts at the ballpark, bringing fans the chance to sample some of Miami’s best beers. In left field, you’ll find Recess Sports Lounge, a vibrant ultralounge with its own bar and menu.

For the 2025 season, the Marlins welcomed new manager Clayton McCullough, who’ll lead a young roster of exciting talent. Among the top returnees are 2022 Cy Young Award winner Sandy Alcantra, one of the best pitchers in MLB, as well as standout outfielder Jesus Sanchez. Other notable Marlins include catcher Nick Fortes, one of baseball’s best defensive catchers, and shortstop Otto Lopez, who is coming off an impressive rookie season.

Getting to loanDepot park

loanDepot park has several on-site parking garages, with dynamic prices varying by game. The stadium is easily accessible off SR-836, aka the Dolphin Expressway, at the NW 17th Avenue exit. Uber, Lyft and ride-shares drop off on the stadium’s east side at East Lot 1, just outside left field.

Fans coming from Aventura, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach and other points north can take the high-speed Brightline train, with a special Home Runner train whisking you from MiamiCentral Station in Downtown Miami to the ballpark and back. Shuttles depart the station 10 minutes after arrival to get you to the game on time; return shuttles depart 45 minutes before the Brightline’s scheduled departure time. Another option from Downtown Miami is to take the the Metrobus. Routes 7, 208 and 11 have bus stops near the park. The Marlins’ Winning History

In the early 1990s, MLB granted an expansion franchise to H. Wayne Huizenga, who at the time was the owner of Blockbuster Video. He decided to name the franchise the Florida Marlins as a homage to the graceful, powerful fish and several minor league baseball teams that had played in Miami. The team began play in 1993 as members of the National League’s East Division and played its home games at Joe Robbie Stadium, now Hard Rock Stadium, in Miami Gardens.

In 1997, their fifth season, the Marlins made the playoffs for the first time and captured their first World Series. Led by Cuban-born pitcher Livan Hernandez, the team made a miraculous run to the World Series and defeated the Cleveland Indians in seven games, capped off by a thrilling Game 7 in which Edgar Renteria drove home Criag Counsell with the winning run in the bottom of the 11th inning.

In 2003, the Marlins won a second World Series, defeating the powerful New York Yankees in six games. That would be the Marlins’ last playoff appearance until 2020, when the team defeated the Chicago Cubs in the first round before losing in the National League Division Series. The Marlins made the playoffs again in 2022, losing to the Philadelphia Phillies in two games.

In 2012, the team changed its name to the Miami Marlins and moved to brand-new Marlins Park in Little Havana. Now called loanDepot park, the stadium is air conditioned when the roof is closed, ensuring a dry, comfortable experience for all who attend. Regular-season games are played from late March to early October, and the game-day experience is fun, colorful and exciting. If you’re going to a game, only clear bags that are 16 inches x 16 inches x 8 inches are allowed.
