Role Description
The General Maintenance Engineer is primarily responsible for general maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, meeting spaces, and front-of-the-house areas. This role includes entry-level preventative maintenance as well as technical repairs on mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and laundry equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general repairs and maintenance tasks in guest rooms and public areas.
- Execute entry-level preventative maintenance programs to ensure hotel facilities remain in top condition.
- Troubleshoot and repair basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.
- Assist with the upkeep of kitchen and laundry equipment.
- Maintain clear communication with the engineering team and other hotel departments to resolve issues quickly.
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with guests during in-room repairs.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
Qualifications
- Minimum of one-year building maintenance experience is required.
- Technical skills or experience with mechanical, electrical, or kitchen equipment is necessary.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Previous hospitality or hotel maintenance experience is preferred.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including AM or PM shifts, holidays, and weekends.
