Role Description

A Steward or Dishwasher is primarily responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of all hotel china, silverware, and cookware. This is a vital role within our culinary team that ensures our kitchen and dining operations run smoothly and meet Hyatt’s high standards for sanitation and presentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize all china, glassware, silverware, and cookware.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation and heart-of-house area.
• Safely handle and store equipment to minimize breakage and loss.
• Assist the culinary team with basic tasks and maintain kitchen cleanliness.
• Operate industrial dishwashing machinery according to safety protocols.
• Maintain a fast pace to keep up with the demands of a high-volume hotel kitchen.
• Follow all safety, sanitation, and chemical handling procedures.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift, pull, and push a moderate amount of weight.
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time during a shift.
• Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment with constant activity.
• Strong teamwork skills and a positive, "can-do" attitude.
• Good communication skills for coordinating with the culinary and service teams.
• Flexibility to work AM or PM shifts, including holidays and weekends.
