Role Description
A Steward or Dishwasher is primarily responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of all hotel china, silverware, and cookware. This is a vital role within our culinary team that ensures our kitchen and dining operations run smoothly and meet Hyatt’s high standards for sanitation and presentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Wash and sanitize all china, glassware, silverware, and cookware.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation and heart-of-house area.
- Safely handle and store equipment to minimize breakage and loss.
- Assist the culinary team with basic tasks and maintain kitchen cleanliness.
- Operate industrial dishwashing machinery according to safety protocols.
- Maintain a fast pace to keep up with the demands of a high-volume hotel kitchen.
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and chemical handling procedures.
Qualifications
- Must be able to lift, pull, and push a moderate amount of weight.
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time during a shift.
- Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment with constant activity.
- Strong teamwork skills and a positive, "can-do" attitude.
- Good communication skills for coordinating with the culinary and service teams.
- Flexibility to work AM or PM shifts, including holidays and weekends.
