808 Life: Egyptian Lover + DJ Icey

Celebrate the legacy of electro, breakbeat and Miami bass as 808 Life brings Egyptian Lover and DJ Icey to The Ground Miami. Taking place on Friday, August 8, this 18+ event features a lineup of pioneering and next-generation artists paying tribute to the iconic sound of the Roland TR-808 drum machine at one of Miami’s leading underground venues.

Headlining the night is Egyptian Lover, a foundational figure in electro-funk known for tracks like “Egypt, Egypt” and his dynamic fusion of analog synths, drum machines and turntables. Sharing the stage is DJ Icey, a key architect of Florida’s breakbeat scene whose genre-blending sets have influenced decades of dance music.

Also performing are JimiTheGenius, Sel.6 B2B Soltek and LAMEBOT, bringing their own take on 808-driven rhythms and club-ready sound. Presented by The Ground and Link Miami Rebels, this edition of 808 Life is more than a party—it’s a celebration of the beats that shaped underground music culture.

Doors open at 11 p.m. This ticket grants access to the main floor only and does not include entry to the Club Space terrace.
