A Poetry Reading & Conversation with Cecily Parks
Apr 23, 2026
Starting: 7:00 PM
A poetry reading and conversation set within a natural preserve brings together contemporary voices at the Tropical Audubon Society in South Miami. Taking place Thursday, April 23, this O, Miami Poetry Festival event features Cecily Parks alongside poets Madeline Donahue and Cherry Pickman in an intimate literary setting.
The evening includes readings from recent and selected works, followed by a discussion exploring themes, process and the role of poetry in engaging with landscape and lived experience. Parks, author of The Seeds, O’Nights and Field Folly Snow, is known for work that reflects on environment and perception, while Pickman’s writing, including her chapbook Theory of Tides, often engages with place and coastal imagery.
Presented as part of the O, Miami Poetry Festival, the event reflects the festival’s emphasis on accessible, place-based poetry experiences that connect writers and audiences through shared dialogue.
