A Special Encounter with Kemal Gekic

A solo piano recital at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center highlights virtuosic repertoire and interpretive depth through an evening with internationally recognized pianist Kemal Gekic.

A Special Encounter with Kemal Gekic takes place Sunday, February 22 at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center. Gekic, who made his U.S. debut at the Miami International Piano Festival and later served as artist-in-residence at Florida International University, is known for an expansive repertoire and a performance style that emphasizes individuality, structural clarity and expressive range.

The program spans multiple eras of classical music, beginning with Handel’s Chaconne in G major, HWV 435 and Beethoven’s Sonata No. 21 in C major, Op. 53 (“Waldstein”). Following intermission, the concert continues with Ravel’s Gaspard de la Nuit and concludes with Three Concert Études composed by Gekic himself, offering insight into both his interpretive and compositional voice.
