Across ebb and flow: Artist Conversation
Jun 28, 2025
From: 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Exploring the complexities of home, memory and identity, two artists delve into Caribbean diaspora narratives through an intimate conversation about their collaborative multimedia exhibition. This moderated discussion invites the public to hear directly from the creators as they reflect on their artistic dialogue and thematic explorations across performance, photography and installation art.
The Across ebb and flow: Artist Conversation takes place Saturday, June 28 at the Monsignor William Barry Library at Barry University. Presented by Diaspora Vibe Cultural Arts Incubator (DVCAI), the conversation features artists L.A. Samuelson and Amanda Bradley in discussion with DVCAI at Barry curators Rosie Gordon-Wallace and Lauryn Lawrence.
Samuelson, an interdisciplinary choreographer working across sculpture, new media and performance, will speak on Telegraph Valley, an installation that reimagines the body as a shifting site of memory and loss. Bradley, a Belizean American artist and curator, will discuss From One Sea, a photographic work that engages the Caribbean and Atlantic oceans as carriers of collective memory and portals to diasporic connection.
This event is part of the Across ebb and flow exhibition, on view June 26 through September 30, 2025, during regular hours at the Barry University library. Admission to the artist conversation is free and open to the public.
