Afro-Cuban Master Weekend Miami

Afro-Cuban dance traditions are the focus of a two-day intensive combining movement training, live percussion and cultural study at Miami Baila Dance Studio. The program takes place Saturday, September 12 and Sunday, September 13, offering eight hours of instruction for dancers interested in developing both their technique and their understanding of the traditions behind the movement.

Classes are accompanied by live drummers and extend beyond choreography to include cultural context, individual feedback and opportunities to examine the relationship between rhythm and dance. The weekend is designed to support a deeper engagement with Afro-Cuban forms while bringing dancers and teaching artists together through shared study and practice.

Afro-Cuban Master Weekend was created to support the preservation and transmission of Afro-Cuban dance traditions through education, collaboration and community.
