Aug 16, 2025
From: 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM
Celebrate Nicaragua's cultural heritage through an evening of authentic music, dance and community engagement. Alma Nica: Cultura y Tradición will take place on Saturday, August 16, at the Manuel Artime Community Center, offering visitors an immersive experience of Nicaraguan traditions.
The event begins with the Blue Bazaar from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m., a cultural marketplace featuring local artisans, entrepreneurs and food vendors showcasing authentic Nicaraguan crafts, cuisine and services. This community-focused fair supports charitable initiatives, with proceeds benefiting underprivileged communities and cultural programs.
Following the bazaar, guests will transition to the theater between 6:30 and 7:00 p.m. for the main performance. From 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., the Nicaraguan Folkloric Ballet Azul will present a showcase of traditional dances, featuring regional styles ranging from northern polkas and mazurkas to the distinctive son nica and zapateado rhythms.
Performers dressed in traditional costumes will guide attendees through a cultural journey highlighting Nicaragua's diverse musical heritage and dance traditions.
