American Psycho at Rooftop Cinema Club

A late-night rooftop screening brings Mary Harron’s dark satire of 1980s excess to South Beach. American Psycho screens Thursday, May 28 at Rooftop Cinema Club South Beach.

Based on Bret Easton Ellis’ novel, the 2000 film stars Christian Bale as Patrick Bateman, a wealthy Manhattan investment banker whose polished routine of status symbols, business cards and fine dining masks increasingly violent fantasies. Directed by Harron and co-written with Guinevere Turner, the film blends horror, black comedy and social satire, using Bateman’s unraveling to skewer vanity, consumer culture and Wall Street masculinity.
