Nationally recognized art critic Elisa Turner discusses Miami’s Art Boom: From Local Vision to International Presence in conversation with Alberto Ibargüen at Coral Gables Congregational United Church on Thursday, October 30. Presented by the Books & Books Literary Foundation, the evening begins with a reception at 6 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall, followed by the talk at 7 p.m.
Turner’s book captures the evolution of Miami’s visual arts community before and after the arrival of Art Basel, highlighting the artists, curators and institutions that shaped the city’s rise as a global cultural hub. Ibargüen, former president of the Knight Foundation and past publisher of the Miami Herald, joins her for an engaging discussion on art, history, and civic life.
