Antologias
May 15, 2026 - May 17, 2026
Fri: 6 PM | Sat & Sun: 4 PM and 7 PM
Ibero-American cinema takes the spotlight in a three-day film program designed for close viewing, dialogue and cultural exchange. Presented by the Ibero-American Film Festival Miami in co-production with the Koubek Center, Antologías runs Friday, May 15 through Sunday, May 17 at the Koubek Center in Little Havana. The curated series features a focused selection of films from Spain, Colombia and across the Ibero-American diaspora, with filmmaker conversations and live music woven into the weekend.
Unlike the larger festival format, Antologías is conceived as an intimate year-round program that highlights films chosen for their artistic vision, narrative strength and cultural depth. The lineup opens with Los Domingos, Alauda Ruiz de Azúa’s 2025 Spanish drama about a teenage girl whose desire to become a cloistered nun sparks questions of faith, identity and family tension.
The weekend continues with Mephisto, followed by a Q&A with director Cristian Proa, and Two Islands, a documentary connecting Afro-Cuban and Aboriginal Australian artists through ritual, music, dance and ancestral memory. That screening includes a Q&A with Humberto Ochoa and Michael Gil Arango, followed by a live music performance by Arango. The program closes with Sergio Cabrera’s Colombian classic La Estrategia del Caracol, a 1993 comedy-drama about tenants in Bogotá who devise a collective plan to resist eviction.
