Art of Transformation: Opening Night
Dec 03, 2025
From: 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Art and community come together in Opa-locka as the 13th Annual Art of Transformation opens with an evening of performances, exhibition previews and neighborhood activations.
On Wednesday, December 3, Opening Night begins with the unveiling of African Diaspora Memory in Motion at the Garden of Humanity, followed by a grand reception at The ARC. Guests can explore the first installations of this year’s Art of Transformation program, which spans six exhibitions across five venues and two city blocks. The featured exhibition, At the Edge of Entanglement, anchors the series and examines the ways artists from the African and Caribbean diasporas reinterpret inherited histories through sculpture, painting, digital media and performance.
Presented during Miami Art Week as an official Art Basel Miami satellite exhibition, the event provides early access to works by emerging and established African American artists whose practices challenge, commemorate and re-envision narratives shaped by systemic inequities.
