Art Unveiling: BirdHouse by Michele Oka Doner

A new public artwork by Michele Oka Doner brings sculptural form, local ecology and site-specific design into the landscape of Bayshore Park in Miami Beach. Art Unveiling: BirdHouse by Michele Oka Doner takes place Friday, May 29 at Bayshore Park on Pine Tree Drive.

Presented by the City of Miami Beach, the event marks the unveiling of BirdHouse, a 22-foot-tall sculpture selected through the city’s Art in Public Places Committee. Conceived for its setting, the work reflects the natural beauty and history of Bayshore Park, one of Miami Beach’s quieter green spaces.

The unveiling includes poetry readings by students from O, Miami’s Sunroom program and the ceremonial sound of a Caribbean conch shell. Parking will be available at Miami Beach Senior High School, with free shuttles running between the school and Bayshore Park during the event. RSVP is requested through Eventbrite.
